There are two kinds of relationships that you can have with someone: one of contentment, and one of passion.
The contentment relationship is comfortable. Everything you do is normally planned and in most cases you can expect what your partner is going to do next. The really good parts of the relationship are saved for when you do something special like go out to eat or go on a special date.
The passionate are all about giving everything up for their loved one.
It never occurs to them that the feelings that they are sharing with their partner are selfless because it is second nature for them. They are relationships that people are completely vulnerable, full of kindness, and give up most of their life for their partner (often times everything).
But there’s actually a third kind of relationship. This is the unique relationship that has a combination of a relationship full of contentment and a relationship full of passion.
The people in this kind of relationship understand that they can not be completely comfortable and still have passion in their relationship. At the same time they understand you can’t just give up the life that you had before you were in your relationship just so you can be comfortable.
These relationships consist of people that understand what I call “balanced passion,” the combination of contentment and passion.
The Building Process
You don’t start a relationship being completely content and you usually don’t just jump into something and be completely passionate. So slow it down.
Keep things on your pace. Sometimes it can go faster than others, sometimes it goes slower than others, just make sure you are getting what you deserve.
You always want to be passionate with your partner during all times of the relationship, but don’t neglect your friends. You always want to be comfortable in your relationship but don’t just expect things from your partner. Just make sure it is balanced.
The Growing Process
Once you are in a relationship for a while things are bound to get ordinary and repetitive. That is just the effect of being with someone. So if this is happening to you don’t let it bother you.
One thing you can do to keep your relationship from being repetitive is to spend less time with each other.
Show your love consistently for your partner but at the same time, do things without the other. The power of missing your partner will grow a relationship beyond belief.
Just think about when you first started dating the person you are with, you probably were not with that person every single day – Right? Didn’t you look forward to seeing your partner each time you got together?
The Results of a Balanced Relationship
Once you get a balance of contentment and passion in your relationship, the relationship will be stronger than it ever has been before.
The Boring = The Unhappy
It’s wonderful to be in a relationship that you are completely content and comfortable in but you need to make sure you keep things exciting!
Nice People Finish Last
If you are always giving up everything in your life for your partner then you won’t be the person that your partner fell in love with. Plain and simple.
So make sure you stay balanced. Be nice, be passionate, yet don’t act to content and comfortable because the key to a successful balanced relationship is to keep growing and building the passion.
